Deivid is a first generation queer Latinx immigrant, Chicago based filmmaker, writer, storyteller, and communicator. He has more than 10-years of diverse experience directing and crewing documentary and narrative films as well as extensive photojournalism and public relations experience. He’s also a seasoned communicator with extensive experience in digital communications and public relations.
Born in Bogota, Colombia, raised in Miami, Florida, and making a home out of Chicago for the last seven years, his stories explore the themes of love in globalized world, the immigrant identity in the United States, masculinity in queer and Latinx culture, and the environmental crisis. His work is also intersectional and experimental, often weaving other art mediums, like poetry, into his films and writing. Deivid has been recognized for his art, activism, and work in various publications and spaces.
